NATIONAL SEMINAR – Agriculture Entrepreneurship Opportunities & Challenges

A National Seminar on entrepreneurship, opportunities and challenges was organised by Institute of Agricultural Training and Research (IATR) where we confer the Krishi Udhyami Award to the Innovative Agripreneurs and Progressive farmers as a motivation and also aware students about growth and working hard. We are proud to share the highlights from Krishi Udhyami Samman 2024 as we had the honor of welcoming Padmashree Dr. Prem Chand Sharma ji as the Chief Guest for the ceremony, a visionary and a progressive farmer in the field of agriculture and rural development where two outstanding agricultural entrepreneurs was felicitated with the Krishi Udhyami Samman 2024: Mr. Ashish Dabral and Mr. Mahabal Singh Negi.

Workshop on Agri- Tech Revolution

Renewable Energy, Smart Irrigation and Al for Digital Farming Practices:

A One Day Workshop on “Agri- Tech Revolution: Renewable Energy, Smart Irrigation and Al for Digital Farming Practices” was conducted at IATR focused on exploring innovative dual land use strategies by integrating renewable energy systems with modern agricultural practices. Participants engaged in hands-on sessions on IoT-based drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting, and machine learning applications for crop yield prediction and market analysis. The event also promoted entrepreneurial thinking through on-site food processing techniques and insightful case studies. We were honored by the inspiring addresses from our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. V.S. Negi- Former Horticulture Director, State of Uttarakhand, alongside Dr. J.M.S. Tomar- Principal Scientist, ARS-HOD of Plant Science ICAR-IISWC and Dr. Pachauri, Professor- UPES, Dehradun who shared valuable insights and set a forward-looking tone for the workshop. The event successfully fostered learning, collaboration, and innovation among all attendees.

Workshop on Kitchen Waste Management and Compost Making

A One Day Workshop for Homemakers on “Kitchen Waste Management and Compost Making” was conducted where 50 housewives were trained at Agricultural Training & Research Institute, Dehradun. The training was aimed to teach the techniques to convert home kitchen waste into useful fertilizers, to prepare natural and nutritious fertilizers for home garden or plants. Housewives attending the training showed great enthusiasm in learning this technique and vowed to use it in their homes. This endeavor of Agricultural Training and Research Institute will not only help environmental conservation, but also promote domestic gardening.

Workshop on Water Conservation

A One Day Workshop on Water Conservation was organized by Agriculture Training and Research Institute (IATR) on the guidelines of Policy Commission, Water festival program today. 50 agriculture students participated in the program for Water Conservation Policy Commission, Janjivan Mission, and Water Power Ministry discussed the objectives of 15-day "Water Utsav" program organized by Deepak Garola, Director of Kinchit Prayas Foundation, students were also given experimental training of water testing and all the participants were given oath of water conservation. Policy Commission's 'Water Festival' aims to encourage responsible use and conservation of water through community-based activities such as water property cleanliness, tree plantation, student awareness programs and community pledges.
